November 2007
SAN 1100, an SW1500 is at JBS for work.
December 2007
A crane lowers a new cab onto a frame belonging to a GP40-2 rebuild.
NS 2206 has been moved over to the circle within the last couple days. This is where they strip the units down to a frame.
January 2008
These two SD50's (6509 and 6525) were just plucked from the deadline. In April 2008, they became PRLX 4003 and 4004.
February 2008
Apparently the NRE 3GS21B's haven't been performing well. 301 is back at JBS for maybe the 2nd time since going into service.
March 2008
Yet another frame being stripped at JBS. This frame belongs to a long hood forward geep.
NS 6512 looks suspiciously like a future SD40E.
VRE V24 is here for work with NS 7216 in the background.

NS 4133 has joined 2874.
NS 6512 has been blasted and primed. The next step is to begin adding all the guts. This will be the first SD50/SD40E conversion.
April 2008
A frame from a future NS rebuild has a pair of CEFX lease units as company.
NS 6512 has been pulled out of the wreck shop and sits along Chestnut Avenue.
About 3/4 of the GP38's stored in the deadline have been removed and brought over to the lumber tracks. This is where locomotives are placed before they enter a rebuild program.
This frame belongs to NS 3199, an SD40/SD40-2 conversion.
The three CEFX visitors are still here.
2218 was the regular Altoona switcher but it's been in the shop for quite a while. Here it is with the main generator removed.
After receiving some damage to its radiator, NS 3329 is at the shop with its long hood removed.
NS 7143 has been here for quite a while. Just a few weeks ago this unit was stored behind the Miscellaneous #2 building.
NS 5417 is a future SD40E conversion.
Look at all the blue.
This is the 2839. It should become a GP40-2 slug master.
Out in front of the paint shop sit two frames and an SD40E conversion. Behind them is an NS SD50 with PRLX 4003 on the cab.
May 2008

A couple new GE cabs were deilivered to the Juniata Shop to repair a few Dash 9's that were wrecked.
There are currently 12 long hoods stored here. Most of these are from SD40/RPU6 conversions.
NS 6504 is starting its conversion. 6504 is a rare SD50S.
NS 700 and 701 are together today.

It appears 7143 is to be scrapped. It has been reduced to a frame and cab in the last few weeks.
NS 2839 is a GP38AC/GP40-2 slug master conversion.
The circle is packed today.
An SD40E and GP40-2 slug master are present.
New slug NS 879 arrived a couple days ago for completion and paint.
June 2008
NS 5417 has been modified to prepare for its conversion to SD40E. The long hood and electrical cabinet have been removed as well as everything inside the cab.
One of the F units sits next to an SD40E.
