November 2011 Continued
Here's NS 600 again.
An Admiral SD40-2 and an RP20BD genset.
NS 6534 is one of the ex-UP/CNW SD60s purchased this year. They'll all end up in the SD60E program eventually. Looks like 6534 doesn't have much time left.
At the west end of the shop they have a lot of new Admiral cabs, SD60E cabs, and spare long hoods for various projects.
Part of the deadline.
Brand new CSX ES44AC 963 is on its way to the Shop for a paint job. One of several CSX units here for paint.
Here's a UP SD40-2 frame which will be used to build a Railpower RP20CD.
Here's an unfinished RP20BD genset, probably for Modesto & Empire Traction.
December 2011
NS 5420 has escaped the SD40E program for now. Here it sits on shop trucks.
NS 5305 with engine removed.
Look at what the shop is working on again....the NS 999.
PRR 469529 is used to shuttle hood sections to and from the paint shop. The primer overspray is obvious.

NS 3286 and 3302 are in line for Admiral cabs.
A few years ago there was going to be a SD40/SD40-2 rebuild program. One frame was stripped and here it is. It was NS 1619.
NS 27 the exhibit car sits outside the Miscellaneous shop.
Lots of SD40 and SD40-2s in storage at the shop.
The shop from Chestnut Avenue.

This unfinished SD60E is marked at 6934. Not sure the reason for the big skip in numbers.
Note NS 8312 is inside the E&M shop in 13 track.
April 2012
A worker torches off parts of NS 6571's old cab. As part of its conversion to SD60E, it will receive a new "widecab."
