February 2007
MT-6 973's conversion to RPU6 is in progress. They have plated over the numberboard locations.
March 2007
NS SD45-2 1700 minus fuel tank.
Interesting mix of power.
New RPU6 slug 871 converted from an SD40 is sitting near the paintshop in primer waiting for black paint. This slug came from Roanoke.
Crews are torching off everything on the top of NS 1589.
NS 1589 will become an RPU6 in the 870 series.
Again a shot of the GP38's stored behind the freight shop.
RPCX 1020 is seen at the backshop with its new pilot. This F unit became NS 4271.

April 2007
It appears that CR 7725 is leaving for a CSX shop near you. She's been stored in the deadline for around ten years.
Overall shot of NS 1376 after being stripped to a frame. It would become a GP40-2 slug master.
Juniata Shop looking south.
Juniata Shop looking west.
Closer up on the E&M shop and turntable.
Closer on some of the original 1880's shop buildings. The brown building is the test shed, and the paint shop is on the left.
Juniata from the south. All of the main buildings are in view in this photo.
This EMDX SD45 is rare.
Rebuilt RJC 2754 GP38 to GP38-2 RJC 3803.
Lots of Conrail GP38's at the freight shop.
NS 2220 snags one of three Reading GP40-2's on the NS roster.
May 2007
Most of these are future GP40-2 rebuilds. Five have been started at this point.
NS 3339 smokes it up at the E&M shop.
June 2007
This is another GP40 frame stripped for rebuild...NS 1365. There's a lot of crap to remove from below the cab floor.
Here it is, the first RP14BD in progress. NS 2226 has been stripped to a frame and will be the donor. As of November 2007, this frame was sitting in a hidden area of the shop and it almost looked like the project was dead. Soon after, it was moved back to the E&M Shop.
A pair of SD9M's in storage.
NS 2226's hood sits in the 'hood graveyard.'
NS 2206 has been long retired. I am wagering that it becomes one of the two RP14BD's that Juniata is building.
NS 7143 has been wreck pretty badly.
Surprise, RJCP 2775 has been here less than a week and it's already stripped to a frame.
Another angle.
NS 2220 snags VRE V33.
July 2007
SD50's are starting to get a bit rare on Class 1 roads. Here's one at Juniata still blue.
NS 9914 was the lead unit in a head-on collision in OH. I don't know what they call this track, but this is where they tend to put stuff until they figure out what to do with it. She's pretty banged up; at least its a Dash-9 and not something usefull, lol.
Three SD9M's in this view.
Ex-Penn Central GP38-2 with its prime-mover and long hood missing.
This frame, which is primered and has its trucks, is about ready for build-up. It belongs to GP40 1357.
Over half of the railroad's RP-E4D slugs are at Juniata for overhaul.
Three of the OCS F units are behind an SD9M.
August 2007
The first NS GP40/GP40-2 conversion has been released...NS 3071.
NS 932 is one of many 4-axle slugs to get rebuilt starting this year.
This GP38AC would eventually become a GP40-2 slug master in the 3100 series.
V08 is at the circle.
NS 7215 and OHCR 3613 are coupled rear to rear on track 398.
September 2007
V08 has a V12 under the hood. NS 7200 is inside the E&M shop behind V08.
HLCX 5959.
Chestnut Avenue beside the Juniata Shop.
October 2007
Three Juniata rebuilds, a GP38-3, a future GP40-2, and a new RPU6.
Plow storage is next to the big sign.
The big brown building is the power plant. The Juniata Shop generates its own electricity, steam, and air from coal-fired boilers.
