 - Standard 16-645 engine upgraded to 16-645-E3C (with turbo and EFI) but still rated 2,000 hp  
 - Standard air compressor removed and equipped with four air compressor power assemblies

Work Done 2014 (5270):
 - Standard 16-645 engine upgraded to 16-645-E3C (with turbo and EFI) but still rated 2,000 hp

Notes:
- Single turbo exhaust ahead of the dynamic brake
- Still classed GP38-2 by NS
- Standard 26L brake equipped
- CSS/LSL removed
- NS 5266 returned to original engine configuration 1/2016 after suffering freeze damage
- NS 5270 returned to manual injection but retained the turbocharged engine 4/2018
